The Theology Mill is produced in partnership with Wipf and Stock Publishers.

The Theology Mill is a podcast about theology, philosophy, and Christian faith.

Through conversations with authors, scholars, and other thoughtful guests, as well as occasional solo episodes, we explore books, ideas, and practices that shape Christian thought and life.

Our aim is to cultivate patient, bookish conversations that take ideas seriously while remaining accessible to curious readers and listeners.

Meet the Hosts

Zech Mickel

Zech is a Catholic writer working at the intersection of theology and continental philosophy. He is the author of The Unthinkable Sacrifice: An Essay on Fatherhood (Cascade, 2025) and editor of the forthcoming The Eucharist and Continental Philosophy (Fordham University Press, 2028). Zech holds an MA in philosophy from the Global Center for Advanced Studies, where he fell in love with French phenomenology. He lives in Oregon with his wife and three young daughters and spends his free time wishing he had more free time. He was raised in the granola culture of central Oregon and welcomes any excuse to escape into the woods, especially if a river is involved. During his working hours, you'll find him practicing the craft of plumbing, often in cramped and dirty crawl spaces.
